May

April has come and gone with not many warm Spring days and I still haven’t returned to the shops. I had my 2 nd Pfizer jab last week so think I’ll wait until I’ve done the 3 weeks after it. And what will I buy? I haven’t really got anything on the list I need. Maybe a couple of M and S white tee shirts and I can always succumb to a colourful cardigan.

In the meantime I did manage to buy !! The 2 nd hand charity shops beckoned and I picked up a dress from Boden at The scope shop. Boden kindly donates new dresses to Scope charity so I bought a new Boden dress for £20 complete with labels!

Spring, I managed to wear a dress a few times!

Secondly I bought a pair of shoes from the Preloved emporium in Kenilworth which supports the Samaritans for £7.50.

I didn’t need the dress or shoes but I’ll wear both and £27.50 has gone to Scope supporting the disabled and the Samaritans a very worthy charity.

Spring

Well it’s officially Spring now and this week we can actually wear some spring/summer clothes for a few days at least. I can’t wait to wear a dress at last and occasionally have something to dress up for again. A friend commented that she wouldn’t know what to do when she couldn’t just resort to jeans and jumpers, but I can’t wait.

I have tried to keep up appearances during lockdown and wear a variety of things. But like all, lockdown has ground down my motivation in all ways. I’ve hardly touched my winter wardrobe and through practicality have ended up in trousers and jumpers two thirds of the time. Though I have managed to wear my demin dresses and skirts instead of trousers for daily walks sometimes.

But tomorrow we open up, so time to motivate and look forward optimistically rather than continue the dreariness that’s been around post Christmas. I’ve slowed down purchasing and not bought this month after my slight frenzy in February. But I’ve bought one item a pair of trousers ( whilst they had twenty percent off )so that I could bring out the old me again!

I can’t wait to wear these !

Spring March

Well today I began the transformation from Winter to Spring clothing returning my sparkly Christmas jumpers to the drawers under the bed and getting some Spring tops out ready! Probably ensuring that it will snow again!

February was so dismal that I did go a little mad and bought some bits and pieces from H and M , mom jeans with an elasticated waist and a green fluffy spring cardy. I’d also bought a Joe Brown top for spring along with the red dress in my previous photo.

Then just when I thought that was it, I spied a dress which is perfect for Jack and Emma’s wedding (more elegant than the one I bought at Christmas). And reduced from £109 to £32! I ordered it with a view to returning if necessary but no I’m really pleased with it.

Anyway that’s it now, I’ve vowed not to look at clothes again for awhile! Otherwise I’m going to end up with at least six bargain dresses for Jack and Emma’s wedding and also break all my vows about being less profligate with clothing as well as caring for the environment!

February 1st

My birthday pressy to me !

Well it’s a bit vintage and you either like it or you hate it!! But it was £16 in the Joe Brown sale and I intend to wear it with ankle boots and a black short cardy and leggings underneath as it’s quite long. Very grunge but ideal for Spring or Autumn and a change from trousers all day everyday.

January 2021

It is a month since I last posted and like all it has been a very quiet month. As for clothes buying I was unable to rush out and sweep up all the bargains in the sales! And as I have reflected on before, buying online is just not the same! I managed 2 items both very practical .

White stuff loose pinafore

I bought this in the sale and have worn it loads cos it’s loose and comfortable. Also I have a real thing for denim dresses . I’ve attached the snowdrop brooch from exquisite brooches for January . Other than that i bought some £12 jogger trousers from H and M.

This was the label inside. Hope it is was it says it is. Then I feel better though of course H and M are still producing far too many cheap clothes and exploiting workers in 3 rd world countries! I think. Anyway I shan’t be throwing the trousers away after a few wears. They go very well with my home knitted lockdown cardigan.
Great for slobbing round the house. Especially as had 10 days in isolation as in contact with someone with Covid. All good though and am out and about again tomorrow. It will be really exciting to go to the shops and have a walk. What will I wear ? I’ll have to dress up!
